Meet David Ginn, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Augusta University. Early Life and Career

Born in Hobart, Indiana, on November 29, 1981, David Ginn’s journey into the world of emergency medicine began when he enlisted in the United States Army Reserves. After receiving an ROTC scholarship from Florida Southern College, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science and mathematics in 2005. Following his commission as a Transportation Officer, David Ginn deployed to Iraq as a platoon leader, where he gained invaluable experience in challenging environments.

Medical Studies and Deployment

Upon returning from Iraq, David Ginn pursued further studies in the Interservice Physician Assistant Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. After earning his Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, he served as a Physician Assistant in Warrior Medicine at Martin Army Hospital, Fort Benning, GA. His dedication to his patients and passion for improving healthcare systems led him to serve in various capacities, including the 23rd WMD-CST and the 42nd WMD-CST.

Promotions and Recognitions

In December 2020, David Ginn was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, a testament to his exceptional skills and commitment to the medical field. His expertise in emergency medicine was showcased in a demonstration of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) donning and doffing in a simulated healthcare setting. Additionally, David Ginn played a pivotal role in providing medical assistance to the people of the Babil province, further solidifying his reputation as a leader in emergency medicine.
